Yesterday’s coffee adventure took us on a short tour through LA. Thanks to a ride on the METRO, we hopped off and made our way towards Little Tokyo to pick up some fresh beans from Cafe Demitasse. They’ve recently embarked on an epic journey with Greg Thomas who was our featured roaster in June with Trystero. The two collaborated to form a new micro-roastery with espresso blends which all carry a literary theme… the first of which is dubbed, “Cat’s Cradle” – all carefully hand roasted on a tiny Diedrich IR-2.5.

We first met owner Bobak Roshan at a coffee themed dinner party hosted by CHEWSE in April this year. Everything on the table had some element of coffee in it. We spent the whole night buzzing and talking about the coffee community. Bobby invited us to take part in TEDxUSC where we were able to showcase coffee to hundreds of attendees who were keen on sharing ideas and changing the world. It was an event we’ll remember forever.

After enjoying this El Nazareno microlot at home, you’ll have to stop into the simple and sophisticated, Cafe Demitasse in Little Tokyo which features an array of gorgeous coffee brewing equipment. Pull up a chair at the aroma bar and cruise the free wi-fi, or look out for one of the upcoming community educational events being hosted at Cafe Demitasse throughout the year.
